The Exalted Status of the Messenger - Shaan-e-Rasool-e-Aqdas (PBUH)
All praise is for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. And peace and blessings be upon the Pride of the Prophets, the Leader of the Messengers, the Seal of the Prophets, our beloved Muhammad Mustafa (Peace be upon him), and upon his family and all his companions.
Today, we will talk about the most important topic for every Muslim - Shaan-e-Rasool-e-Aqdas, the Exalted Status of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Introduction: Why This Topic is Important?
Allah says in the Quran: "Wa Rafa'na Laka Zikrak" - And We have raised high for you your remembrance (Surah Al-Inshirah: 4). This one verse is enough to understand the status of the Prophet (PBUH). Allah Himself has exalted his remembrance in this world and in the Hereafter.
The poet beautifully says:
There is no face in the world like his, nor any smiling forehead like his, No woman has yet given birth to one as beautiful as him.
1. What Quran Says About Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
Allah has described His beloved Prophet in countless verses:
About His Morals: "Wa Innaka La'ala Khuluqin Azeem" - And indeed, you are on the highest level of morals (Surah Al-Qalam: 4).
About His Mercy: "Wa Ma Arsalnaka Illa Rahmatal Lil Alameen" - And We have not sent you except as a mercy to all the worlds (Surah Al-Anbiya: 107).
About Being Last Prophet: "Ma Kana Muhammadun Aba Ahadim Mir Rijalikum Walakin Rasool Allahi Wa Khataman Nabiyyeen" - Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets (Surah Al-Ahzab: 40).
About Kausar: "Inna A'taina Kal Kausar" - Indeed, We have granted you Al-Kausar (Surah Al-Kausar: 1).
These verses show that Allah Himself is praising His Prophet.
2. The Noble Character and Habits of the Prophet (PBUH)
If we look at Hadith, the companions have described his character in a very beautiful way:
Truthfulness: Hazrat Ali (R.A) says, from the point of view of conversation, he was the most truthful of all people.
Modesty: Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (R.A) says, the Prophet (PBUH) was more modest than a veiled virgin girl sitting in her room.
Generosity: Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A) says, he was the most generous of all people in spending wealth, especially in the month of Ramadan, his generosity was like a fast-blowing wind.
Good Behavior with Servants: Hazrat Anas bin Malik (R.A) says: I served the Messenger of Allah for 10 years. By Allah, he never scolded me, never said "Uff" to me, and never asked why I did something or why I did not do it. He always treated me with love and affection.
Humility at Home: Ummul Momineen Hazrat Aisha Siddiqua (R.A) says: He was not one to talk nonsense and bad, nor one to make noise in the market. He never returned evil with evil, but rather he used to forgive and overlook. At home, he used to do his own work himself. He used to milk the goat himself, mend his shoes himself, sweep the floor himself and knead the flour himself. He never took help from his servants or wives for his personal work and he never liked to cause hardship to anyone.
3. The Unmatched Beauty of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
While describing his beauty, Hassan bin Thabit (R.A), the poet of the Prophet, says:
"My eyes have never seen anyone more handsome than you (PBUH), and no woman has ever given birth to anyone more beautiful than you (PBUH). You were born free from all defects and pure and clean in attributes, as if you were born according to your own wish."
He was the most excellent in manners, the best in character, the most dignified in living with people, the best with neighbors, the one who avoided shameful acts, the most truthful, the most trustworthy, and the most handsome and beautiful of all people.
4. Conclusion - The Demand of Love for the Prophet (PBUH)
So, what is the lesson from all these attributes described in the Quran and Hadith?
The demand of these attributes is that we create true love for the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in our hearts. Such love that is greater than all worldly beloveds. Such love that permeates into every vein of our body. Such love that is greater than our own life, our parents, and our children.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: "None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children and all mankind." (Sahih Bukhari).
We should try to sacrifice our life, wealth, and everything for the love of the Prophet, because love for the Prophet cannot be achieved at any cost, it requires true following of his Sunnah.
I conclude my speech on these few words.
Wa Akhiru Dawana Anil Hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen.
