Methods of Purifying Impurity (Najasat

1) Washing

A) If the impurity on the clothes is solid and has a body, like stool, dung etc., and it is dry, then if you scrape it off and remove its body, the cloth will become pure. And if after that its color or smell remains, it will still be considered pure.

B) If the impurity on the clothes is thin and flowing, like urine, wine etc., then its method is that if the impurity is such that it cannot be squeezed, like a mat, carpet, etc., then its purification is that it should be washed three times and squeezed each time with force, until the water stops dripping. And if it is washed in running water, then after washing, it does not need to be squeezed.

Note: If the impurity is on the ground in the house, and water is poured over it so that it flows, then even if the water stays there, the place will become pure. But the condition is that no trace of impurity, its color, smell remains. If the water is less, then after washing, pour water three times. For example, if 10 grams of urine is on the floor, then pouring water three times over it will make it pure. If the impurity is on such a thing that squeezing it is not possible, like a mat, then pouring water three times is enough, squeezing is not necessary.

2) Wiping

If any smooth thing like mirror, glass, knife, polished metal etc. becomes impure, then wiping it will make it pure, provided that there is no trace of impurity left on it.

3) Becoming Dry

If the ground becomes impure due to impurity, and after that it becomes dry due to sun and wind, and its trace, color and smell disappear, then it becomes pure, and due to the ground becoming pure, that ground becomes pure for offering prayer.

And only the ground and things attached to the ground like wall, tree etc. become pure by drying. Other than that, no other thing becomes pure by drying.

4) Peeling / Scraping

If any thing becomes impure, and it is put into fire, and it burns so much that its particles are finished, like if impure oil is put into a lamp and it burns, or impure wood burns and becomes ash, then it will become pure. Or if blood becomes steam and rises, then that steam is pure. And if that steam becomes water again, that water will also be pure.
